swedish sisters, johanna and klara söderberg, have fast become one of my new favorites.

i don't fall hard for many new(ish) bands, but i can't seem to get enough of first aid kit.

i think it is such a sweet thing when artists have the imagination to pair a

pretty song with an equally pretty video. this one is so lovely.

the big black and the blue is the new album and i love it all.

a perfect thursday =

my 3 favorite people + sunshine + climber + friends + hot lips + ecotrust.

we spent the afternoon and evening at an outdoor concert in nw portland, the last

in a series of outdoor summer shows at the portland ecotrust building.

we went for climber, and caught a surprise acoustic set by silversun pickups.

both bands were fantastic and we had such a good time. 

we soaked in the blue sky,

we were actors, the verrrry dramatic sort.

we were beautiful...

and happy...

and awesome.

*smelly is 5 and already knows her way around a camera. she's got an eye for composition and loves taking photos of everything around her. i love looking through her photos.

the video features balloon art from artist jason hackenwerth. whoa, right?! i don't know about you, but i could look at these images all day. they make me a little nervous, yet they're inviting. like giant sea dwelling amoebas that i want to climb into and bounce around.

balloon art is where it's at.

i'm cleaning house like it's the cool thing to do today

because my mama's coming to visit tomorrow.

haven't seen her since october, we're very excited!!

ok go wins at life.

they need to make up new words for how good this is.
